5 minutes of caring
Votes and Voices
Women earned the right to vote 88 years ago today. On August 26, 1920, after more than 72 years of not being able to vote, the US Constitution was amended to give women this important right. Now, almost a century later, women are doing more than ever. Take some time today to share with your children the importance of women (and men) using their voice in this world. Talk with your little ones about the meaning of the word rights' and discuss what rights they have, even as young children. As we raise socially aware children, they'll inevitably become an aware generation that can bring about even more change.

For moms (and dads) who want to donate time to the Barack Obama campaign, the Democratic Party has set up a child friendly space with toys, books and even a tv. This way, moms (and dads) who do not have child care can bring their children with them. What a great way to show your children the importance of donating time to a cause you believe in.
