Spaces Simplified, Part 1

Spaces Simplified, Part 1

Spaces Simplified provides expert help to de-clutter, organize, and beautify your home or corporate space in a way that benefits your life as a whole. Your space should give you energy, not drain it away. It should be--and can be-- a source of inspiration and tangible support as well as a reminder of who you are when you're at your best... -Spaces Simplified, www.spacessimplified.com

I have always wanted to have some amazing person enter my home, tell me I need help (as I know I do), and miraculously transform my home into the perfect place that never gets dirty, disorganized or in shambles again. I have watched multiple reality shows like "Home Makeover" and wished that I could be on there - not because my home is a complete disaster (although it can be at times), but because my intolerable perfection never seems to cease.

A few weeks ago I had a friend email me the name of a woman who helped to simplify spaces. This friend knows my insanity around my home (especially when I refused to let her come over one day because of the mess). This woman's name was Jane Fleishman and her company name was Spaces Simplified. I was instantly drawn to the philosophy of the company. They claim, "We fear no mess," so I felt alright in at least getting more information. As I read more through her site, I saw her responsibility to caring for the Earth, and, of course, was convinced it was time to make contact.

I love it when I find products and services for my work that can also, in some way or another, directly affect my life. As many of the ideas I run across, this one felt like it was a must-do for me, professionally and personally.

I contacted Jane to let her know my dire need for organization and space simplifying, and threw in that I would love to tell all of our readers more about her. She promptly responded and we had our first meeting set up.

The weekend before our scheduled meeting, I frantically cleaned the house. I wanted it to look perfect before anyone stepped foot inside it. I put all the clothes away (which sometimes can grace the top of my dresser for weeks at a time), cleaned the kitchen, put all my little one's toys away, and tried to get my office (the most uncomfortable, yet most precious to me) in some sort of order. Finally, I realized that this is exactly what I didn't need to do. She needs to see my home in its true form for me to get the best results out of her time, so I settled down, left things as they were, and readied for her arrival the following Monday.

Tip #1: When you have someone coming to help you simplify, organize or clean your home, leave it as it normally would be.

Stay tuned... next week, I will reveal some pictures from my home, some amazing things that happened, and the beginning of a remarkable transformation.
